Wherefore art thou Romeo?

I don't know what to do with this information. I read this amazing essay that has really touched a chord inside of me. It's titled "I Just Called To Say I Love You -- Cellphones, sentimentality and the decline of public space," and it's by Jonathan Franzen, who wrote The Corrections. I want to share it with someone, but I don't know who. So I'm putting it here in hopes that the right person will find it. Fair warning: to read it on the Technology Review website, you have to register (it's free). Some people object to this, and that's fair. If you don't want to register, please don't. But if you do, and if you enjoy the article, e-mail me. Maybe by then I'll know what I want to say about it. Here's my favorite quote, to whet your appetite:
My father loved privacy, which is to say: he respected the public sphere. He believed in restraint and protocol and reason, because without them, he believed, it was impossible for a society to debate and make decisions in its best interest.
